Dana Bykowski
Principal A Principal at Hilltop Public Solutions, Dana Bykowski
uses her extensive knowledge of and experience with local, state and
international government entities to direct state and local
outreach, coalition building and grassroots/grasstops advocacy
projects. Dana brings a unique experience to Hilltop’s State Affairs
practice area, having worked with the United States Conference of
Mayors on critical urban issues including solutions for affordable
housing, public-private partnerships, emergency preparedness and
economic development.

Experience:
- Manages state and local government relations on behalf of a
wide variety of clients.
- Directs issue advocacy campaigns that span policy,
political, corporate and cultural agendas on both a domestic and
international scale.
- Strong expertise in coalition building between public and
private sectors.
- Guides the development of program initiatives and event
logistics.
- Served as Director of Business Development for U.S. Mayor
Enterprises, the for-profit entity of the United States
Conference of Mayors, working closely with the private sector,
local and international government officials to develop
public-private partnerships and resource-based solutions for
affordable housing, renewable energy, emergency preparedness and
economic development.
- Managed CitiesFirst, a nationwide program designed to create
community development projects that integrate affordable housing
and sustainable and economic development opportunities within
urban communities. Served as main spokesperson, coordinated
numerous forums throughout the country, cultivating
relationships with allied organizations, mayors, policy-makers,
press, opinion leaders, constituency groups, and engaging in
public speaking and appearances to heighten visibility of this
urban initiative.
- Managed media and event operations and logistics for three
presidential campaigns, congressional campaigns and several
state legislative campaigns.
- Served as Program Director for Embassy of Sweden in
Washington, D.C., planning and executing events and policy
forums with the purpose of building new relationships with
American organizations and promoting Swedish culture, commerce,
government-specific best practices and ideals and managed
relationships between Swedish-American corporations and the
Embassy of Sweden.
A native of Michigan, Dana holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Political Science from the University of Michigan and a Masters
Degree in Public Policy from The Johns Hopkins University.
