As a principal in Hilltop's Montana office, Aaron brings significant experience in grassroots organizing, coalition building, strategic communications and political campaigns across the West.

Aaron was most recently the Political Director at the Western Organization of Resource Councils (WORC), a network of a seven statewide grassroots family farm and conservation organizations. Aaron gave WORC and its affiliates in Montana and Idaho over 15 years of service, helping win grassroots campaigns and build political power.

Experience

• Campaign manager for one of only five Democratic state senate candidates nationwide who beat an incumbent Republican in 2010. Aaron has racked up a very impressive set of upset state legislative campaign victories each cycle since 2002.
  
  
• Helped form and then manage the America Votes affiliate roundtable in Montana, bringing together diverse organizations across the state to build a permanent infrastructure for progressive advocacy, campaign, and accountability.
  
  
• Trained hundreds of activists, candidates and campaign managers in community organizing, leadership development, candidate recruitment and political campaign management at WORC and Wellstone Action! workshops.
  
  
• Organized numerous winning grassroots issue campaigns, resulting in significant changes in local and state public policies on the environment, agriculture, and economic issues.

Aaron was born and raised just outside Boise, Idaho, but left for the more rugged and rural Montana in 1995. He studied history at the University of Montana-Missoula, graduated from Montana State University-Billings, and has a master's degree in political management from George Washington University.

Instead of sleeping, Aaron can often be found snowboarding at any of the West's epic ski areas, floating down one of its legendary rivers, or just out and about with his dog Rocky.
